Project Journal Entry: Skunk2 presented a tremendous opportunity for us to stretch our wings in Magento. This site needed it all, from complex “parts”, “ model” and “make” tiered database work, to interactive graphical displays of their computerized parts and processes. This was no ordinary commerce suit. This site was built to let users find what they need in an environment best suited for someone in that industry, and support that users experience with high level detail and animated media elements to ensure the user that they’ve found the right product in their purchasing process. Skunk2 was a real challenge to extend Magento from commerce to a full scale interactive interface for high performance parts, for racing professionals.

EarthMember4Life
EarthMember4Life, an entity formed by two people, one with Caribbean heritage and the second a native of the great state of New Jersey. These individuals came together from different worlds but quickly found they had a unique style that they were ready to present to the world. Their vision was to build a company to reach millions of people spanning all cultures and beliefs. With their company Earthmember4Life, their message is simple. “We aim to heighten your privilege as an earth member with every piece of our clothing” They bring to the their customers an opportunity to express themselves as an individual while expanding views of the many places and faces of the earth. They wanted a site that said “Wear it. Live it. Love it” to every visitor, and shopping experience to match.
Project Journal Entry: EarthMember4Life was a great project in terms of simplifying a powerful commerce suite with a robust backend, to make the front end feel more personable and non industrial. We took a regular Magento store front and turned into something that seemed smaller, fun and interactive but maintained its full capability to the store owner. We implemented sliding product pages to get rid of the traditional grid view common in many stores with large inventory. The end result was a site that fit our clients image, fit their needs, and gave them the personalized and unique image that matched their incredible style.

Carden Educational Foundation
Carden Foundation provides courses, lectures, classroom visitations, demonstration teaching, and workshops in the CARDEN METHOD®. It publishes educational materials for use by teachers and students. These materials are available only to those who receive instruction in Carden educational philosophy and teaching techniques. Teachers in each CARDEN SCHOOL® attend regularly scheduled educational programs arranged by the Foundation. Every CARDEN SCHOOL® or independent private school, while preserving its own individuality, functions in harmony with Carden principles
Project Journal Entry: This was a comprehensive solution to control and manage eligible users, easily manage store products and demos, and provide continuing support through organized resources for ongoing relationships. Users can register by applying for a license, which the system administrator can easily activate from the administrative panel, and the user can then have full access to the store and resource center that hold relevant articles and media. Having current material and keeping a site updated are key to keeping clients loyal, and this solution put Carden out in front of their competition to promote and manage their original material.

Grad Memory
Grad Memory sells footage of graduation ceremonies for different universities and high schools. Users can then customize the DVD and DVD cover by adding text and an image (either upload their own or add from a library). Different videographers can also be affiliates by creating a multistore of their own that drives traffic to Grad Memory and gives the videographer commission.
Project Journal Entry: A user can easily find their graduation ceremony with the advance filter/search that was implemented. Once the user finds their product, Flex was inteagrated into Magento to allow users to customize the appearance of their product and also allow the admin to upload different files to the image library to be used. Some heavy customization was implemented for the “Shipping to Multiple Addresses” functionality to create a better experience for the user. A third party vendor for shipping and order fulfillment for both the inbound and outbound process as well

Gladstone Park
Gladstone Park is a conference and event center set in a beautiful national park setting. Visitors to the center stay overnight in an RV or a tent for as many days as they choose during a specific event. Currently, their focus is on one annual event, but in the near future, they will be accepting conference reservations for many different kinds of gatherings.
Project Journal Entry: Their previous website lacked the scalability to grow with their business and also did not have some of the functionality they needed. Therefore, we rebranded their business and customized Magento to allow for unique category page layouts for each section of the campground to be dynamically created. A user can search for a site based on the available days of a campsite and also search for a friend to see what campsite they are staying at. Each campsite has multiple displays to clearly show a campsite’s unique status. The new site launch is expected by the end of 2009.

Hairmax Lasercomb is a clinically proven solution for hair treatment. It was developed to provide laser therapy for baldness or thinning hair in men, in the convenience of their own home. Hairmax Lasercomb and related accessories can be purchased through their website worldwide.
Project Journal Entry: From the front end it’s a pretty simple website that has about 10 or so products. But there are some interesting parts of the website which includes: integration with TrueShip for shipping and fulfillment, custom development to handle recurring payment for products with a payment plan, several front end customizations to handle special checkout requirements , and more. This is an ongoing project and we are currently working on several enhancements such as multi language support, real time integration with third party systems, and more.
School Supply Drive
Schoolsupplydrive.com is a sister e-commerce company of iLoveschools.com, a not-for-profit organization. iLoveSchools.com works with teachers, schools and districts, encouraging kids to stay in school while helping them gain a lifelong love for learning. We match America’s school teachers with individual, group and corporate donors of new, used or in-kind classroom resources. Donors select the classrooms receiving their donation as well as tell us how much we can use to cover our administrative costs.
Project Journal Entry: This was a unique site where we had to integrate the site with several major distributors. We imported over 100k+ products from these sources and matched their attributes in Magento. The biggest challenge was the performance of the site and using cache techniques and optimized server configurations to improve performance. Additionally, we implemented a custom design. This is an on-going project and we are currently working on the EDI integration for order fulfillment for these suppliers.
My Pet My Part
My Pet My part LLC, is an ecommerce site selling Pet related products and merchandise. They donate 10% of all their revenue to various charities and also allow customers to donate any additional amounts as part of their purchase.
Project Journal Entry: We liked this project as we got a chance to work on some interesting extensions. We implemented a charity extension that automatically deducts 10% from each sales and also allows users to donate an additional amount to the charity of their choice. We also build a donation report through which admin can monitor the total donation amount received for each charity. Additionally, we build an extension to manage testimonials (Happy tails). Finally, the fun part was integration with a dropship vendor which included product import, recurring inventory updates and integration with vendors order fulfillment process.

For years, Better Braces has been leading the industry in offering the best back support braces on the market. Staying attentive to the needs of their customers has in turn grown their business to now offer many kinds of support to keep your body safe: ankle support and knee support braces. Looking to take their company and their relationship with DonJoy and AIRCast to the next level they turned to MagentoCommercePros to build a network of targeted websites as well as redesign their flagship site BetterBraces.com.
Project Journal Entry: A major project for us! We ended up doing 5 multi-sites all administered from one backend. The drop shipper integration and data migration were tricky but fun challenges. Since the client already had high Search Engine rankings before we started, we had to plan a Search Engine equity strategy together with their marketing team and ours. Client considers us a true partner and extension of their company!

A new online resource for amateur and expert BBQ cooks alike is now available at www.iprobbq.com, a new site designed to promote the enjoyment of American BBQ by creating a one-stop shop for all the supplies, equipment and information necessary to help people master the Art of Barbecue. iProBBQ is an online resource where everyone can get information, and securely purchase professional grade smokers, all natural artisan dry rubs, artisan bbq sauces, injection marinades, gourmet smoking woods and lump charcoal all delivered to their doorstep.
Project Journal Entry: This project was fun because it was one of our first Magento sites and we also built it for a past client who was starting this up as a hobby. There are a number of smaller customizations that we’ve done for iPros from cool Flash intro to integrating a third party user forum to a video player to upload BBQ demonstrations. We’ve already done a couple additional sites for this client and it’s been fun to watch his success!
The xendurance.eu site is an e-commerce site selling vitamins, supplements and overall nutrition The site is catered to the European market particularly UK, Germany and Netherlands. They currently have their German site working in osCommerce but were looking for to migrate it to Magento. They wanted to have a fully multilingual (German and English) sited catered to Eurpoean market. The Xendurance company turned to MagentoCommercePros to complete their transition from osCommerce to MagentoCommerce.
Project Journal Entry: This was our first multilingual site and we did some customizations to Magento German language pack to have a full front end and back end support. Some of other things client asked for didn’t exist in default Magento such as product autoship feature, Ogone (European payment gateway) with direct debit feature, integration with DPD (European shipping carrier), support for German language both in the front end and back end.
Since the client had a limited budget and
time we came up with some interesting solution to handle product autoship where the future autoship orders get dynamically created based on customer preferences. Additionally, client wanted a support to be able to place order from backend and use Ogone payment gateway to do a credit card and direct debit. There is an Ogone payment gateway extension available with limited feature but we took it and customize it to meet client needs.
There were some nuances to the design integration which was successfully implemented by the Magento- CommercePros dev team.

Project Journal Entry: Andrew is definitely one of the coolest clients we have. A young, successful entrepreneur from California who has become a colleague and now a member of a mini–eCommerce mastermind group that meets monthly. Interesting things about this project were the data migration, the Amazon store integration and working with a third part developer on customizing a vendor fulfillment portal.
Definitely a challenging but fun project!

Project Journal Entry: Very easy project. Client was nice and great to work with and did not require any major custom configurations. We were done in just over a week!

The challenge was in the fact that it was started by another company and we were asked to come in and complete the project. It’s always difficult picking up where someone left off but in the end the client ended up with an amazing eCommerce solution which she can manage on her own without depending on a third party company.

The Hockey Depot is an e-commerce site selling hockey equipment and team uniforms to leagues, teams, and schools. You can buy all your hockey equipment and skates at discount prices. They offer a complete selection of inline/roller hockey & ice hockey equipment, hardware and accessories. Acquired by one of the largest marketers of athletic apparel and supplies in the industry, The Hockey Depot turned to MagentoCommercePros to complete their transition from osCommerce to MagentoCommerce.
Project Journal Entry: The project wasn’t too hard at all. Fortunately, Magento we found an extension that helped to migrate the product and customer data from the original osCommerce site to the new Magento site. Outside of that, the only other challenge was the unique shipping & tax requirements due to the fact that the client was based in NewYork.
